Dr. Wendy Loewenstein is a passionate educator who strives for the personalization of education for all students and staff. As the principal of the virtual school, she is responsible for the curriculum, instruction, and assessment of staff and students. Wendy is excited to build relationships in the Omaha metro area with students and stakeholders of the virtual school as Omaha Public Schools develops the first virtual school in the state! Dr. Loewenstein joined Omaha Public Schools in 2016 as an instructional technology trainer. In this role she facilitated the Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) program for the district. and worked closely with executive directors, building principals, and curriculum specialists with technology integration initiatives. Previously, Wendy worked at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the College of Education as the IDEAS Room Coordinator and a part-time faculty member in the library science department. Prior to working at UNO, she was a high school librarian, elementary school librarian, and a high school English teacher with Bellevue Public Schools.
